The Artful Escape

Xbox Gamepass is the gift that keeps on giving.
There are more games on it I want to play than not. All the first party stuff when they land is instant download but where the service excels for me is giving me the opportunity to play indie titles I would have otherwise not known about or brought. There may have been something in a screenshot or trailer that does not jump out to me or makes me think , no, I won’t bother with that.

I would not have given the Artful Escape a second look. Helped with hearing Alex Brad and Vinny talking about it on the excellent NextLander podcast I thought, I will try that. Downloaded it, started to play late at night when I was tired, left it , downloaded Deathloop on PS5 and didn’t return until yesterday.

It took a couple of sittings to get through and it was a joy. The music , graphics and story created an experience I’ve not had for a while (and I play alot of games). I was totally engrossed in it, the sound design in particular is incredible.
